As you know, HD analog CCTVs use coaxial cables for image transfer. However, IP CCTVs use network cables for data transfer. When you want to connect multiple CCTVs with a single cable, just connect them to a network switch. But, in analog HD CCTVs, you need to connect a coaxial cable for each camera and finally, this cable is connected to the DVR.

POC & EOC CCTV technologies are used for removing barriers to the coaxial cable used for data transferring on the network platform. POC & EOC CCTVs help us to wire 7 network cameras with just an RG59 coaxial cable. This technology can supply power to the cameras and transfer data as series and sequential connection only with a cable and a three-way (BNC-T) up to a distance of 500 meters without any quality loss.

POC & EOC has a central device with a LAN port to access the camera IP or settings and connect it to the network or NVR. How the device works are that data are transferred digitally in the network cable but are sent as sinusoidal waves and voltage changes. When a network element wants to send data over a coaxial cable, these data are transferred with different wavelengths and frequencies, and for each camera, a packet is sent over the coaxial cable. These packets are segregated at the end of the line and it is determined to which camera each signal belongs. CCTVs can be put on the network platform using EOC technology. POC & EOC combinational gates also exist which can transfer data simultaneously on the network and supply the power of the camera by the same cable. EOC camera has only one BNC-T socket that can supply the camera power and data transferring at the same time. The followings are pros of POC & EOC CCTVs over HD and IP CCTVs:
